Dear PUSD families,
Parlier Unified is aware of a threat made on social media stating an event that would take place today on the PJHS campus. We want to assure the community we take all reports of violence seriously. As soon as a staff member became aware of the message, the Parlier Police Department was alerted and increased police presence on campus. The district has been working diligently with officers to investigate the origin and validity of the post.
Police did not find evidence that adds credibility to the threat. The procedures that police and our district have in place allowed us to ensure the safety of our schools with minimal disturbance to classes. Investigators are working to trace the account responsible for the post and want to remind whoever is behind it, there are disciplinary consequences for this behavior.
We want to thank our community for being vigilant and encourage them to continue being on the lookout for, and reporting, any possible acts of violence. We will always investigate each one fully. Unfortunately, with the prevalence of social media, these meritless threats are happening frequently. Please talk with your students about the time and resources they cost and the unnecessary fear they cause.

Estimadas familias de PUSD,
El Distrito Unificado de Parlier está al tanto de una amenaza hecha en las redes sociales que indica un evento que se llevaría a cabo hoy en el campus de PJHS. Queremos asegurarle a la comunidad que tomamos en serio todos los informes de violencia. Tan pronto como un miembro del personal se dio cuenta del mensaje, el Departamento de Policía de Parlier fue alertado y aumentó la presencia policial en el campus. El distrito ha estado trabajando diligentemente con los oficiales para investigar el origen y la validez de la publicación.
La policía no encontró evidencia que agregue credibilidad a la amenaza. Los procedimientos que la policía y nuestro distrito han implementado nos permitieron garantizar la seguridad de nuestras escuelas con la mínima perturbación a las clases. Los investigadores están trabajando para rastrear la cuenta responsable de la publicación y quieren recordarle a quien esté detrás de ella que hay consecuencias disciplinarias por este comportamiento.
Queremos agradecer a nuestra comunidad por estar atentos y animarlos a que sigan atentos y denunciando cualquier posible acto de violencia. Siempre investigaremos cada uno a fondo. Desafortunadamente, con el predominio de las redes sociales, estas amenazas sin mérito ocurren con frecuencia. Hable con sus alumnos sobre el tiempo y los recursos que cuestan y el miedo innecesario que causan.
